Denny Hamlin gets the Pole for the Goody’s Cool Orange 500
Denny Hamlin got the pole in qualifying yesterday for the Goody’s Cool Orange 500 at Martinsville Speedway, Gordon ended up starting third, and he qualified first, so the track was pretty slick still. Looks like there are quite a few teams that need to work on their brakes, as there was a bunch whose tires were locking up and sliding, causing them to drift up the track.
Michael Waltrip continues to shine, his shoes that is, as the 55 team failed to qualify for their fifth straight race. Wasn’t Michael the one bragging about how good he could drive Daytona before all of his troubles started? Did all of his “talent” stay at DEI?
During today’s practices, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Martin Truex Jr. are atop the leader board for the two practice sessions, with Jeff Gordon, Kevin Harvick, Denny Hamlin, and Kyle Busch all in the top ten in both sessions.
