Finally, I was able to watch another Nascar race, so I thought I would give my thoughts on it while they were still fresh.

It all worked perfectly for Kurt Busch, at least at the end of the race, a late caution, caused when McMurray hit Earnhardt Jr. coming into the pits, had almost everyone pit, the few who thought they could make it on fuel, like Busch, Yeley, Waltrip and others, stayed out. Stewart, who had been leading the race, took two tires while everyone else just took gas, so he came back out of the pits in 14th.

They restarted on lap 278 with 1. Kurt Busch 2. Michael Waltrip 3. J.J. Yeley 4. Martin Truex Jr. 5. Elliott Sadler as the top five, two laps later, Hornish clipped Bowyer and the race was over, they just didn’t know it yet. On lap 284, Nascar brought the cars down pit road for rain and red flagged it, and eventually called the Lenox Industrial Tools 301, naming Kurt Busch the winner.

It looked like Gordon was going to do something in this race, running 2nd, 3rd and 4th after starting 19th, and during the last pit stop, they took gas only because they actually ran better on older tires, going for track position. After the last caution, I figured it was over because they had been talking about the rain coming; at least they didn’t take forever to call it.
