Longest Bud ShootOut Ever, First Overdrive of the Season
by webmaster on Feb.07, 2009, under Bud Shootout, Daytona, Kevin Harvick, Sprint Cup

The caution fest is over; Kevin Harvick gets the win about a half a lap early in the 2009 Sprint Cup Budweiser Shootout.
This was a pretty good start to the 2009 season, as always, more crashes makes for a more interesting race, unless your driver is one that gets put out. One of the best things about the new car is that it can take so much damage and still run at the front of the field, I doubt we will see many races with new looking cars in winner’s circle.
How about Jeff Gordon? Driving around two big crashes and pushing eventual winner Kevin Harvick to the front of the field. It looked like he was going to do something until Johnson got loose beside him, causing Gordon to slow up, and then he was pushed to the middle and almost to the back of the field. He finished fourth, but he looked good enough tonight for me to feel good about picking him to win the 500 next week. I think we’ll get more of the same during the twin 125’s this week.
Here is how they finished:
1 27 29 Kevin Harvick Chevrolet Shell / Pennzoil
