Scott Pruett Wins Pole for Telcel-Motorola 200

Scott Pruett claimed the number one starting position for Sunday’s Busch race in Mexico, the Telcel-Motorola 200, Juan Montoya came in third behind former rival Carlos Contreras.

ruett averaged 103.647 mph on his fastest lap Saturday in the No. 41 Dodge on the curvy, 2.518-mile course. Just behind him was Mexico City native Carlos Contreras, who finished at 103.407 mph in the No. 22 Dodge.

Montoya starts third | LineupThe 36-year-old Contreras comes from a racing family, with his grandfather, father, big brother and even young nephew all driving.

“I don’t have blood in my veins. I have gasoline,” he said.

Colombian Juan Pablo Montoya, who jumped from Formula One to NASCAR last season, finished third at 103.391 mph in his No. 42 Dodge. Montoya finished first in Friday’s practice and blamed changes in his car for his third place on Saturday. ource: Pruett wins pole for Telcel-Motorola 200
